Charles ‘Bud’ Skare, 84 ROCKFORD – Charles “Bud” Skare, 84, died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011, in his home. Born Feb. 11, 1927, in Rockford, the son of Charles and Marie (Sahn) Skare. Married to Blenda Hoge in Rockford in 1948; she died Dec. 31, 1998. Employed as a firefighter by the city of Rockford for 28 years, retiring as a lieutenant. He was also a bricklayer for 33 years. Bud was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in Europe. Member of YMCA Men’s Club and a volunteer at Midway Village. Survivor include daughter, Diane (Gary) MacGregor; son, Tom Skare; grandchildren, Ryan and Rory MacGregor; sister, Jean Winquist; and nephews and nieces. Predeceased by sister, Lavern Cleveland.
